Acting Inspector General of Police, (Ag.IGP) Ibrahim Idris

The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil has debunked the alleged admission lopsidedness in favour of Kano State applicants into the academy.

The management of the academy was accused of violating federal character principles in its last admission exercise, essentially to pave way for additional slot for the state’s indigenes.

Reacting to the allegation, spokesperson of the Academy, Muhammad Sabo Kurawa, said the allegation was baseless and mischievous, stressing that the academy is guided by the employment policy and would not do anything to violate the trust.

In a statement signed and made available to The Guardian, Kurawa insisted that no applicant of any state was favored at the expense of another.”

The allegation is false, coming from mischief-makers, just to tarnish the image and efforts of the panel carefully selected by the Federal Government, headed by Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau.

Kano State has the largest number of qualified applicants for the coveted position of the provost.

It is not because the academy is in Kano or the panel is unduly predisposed to assist Kano indigenes,” the statement said.
