The Centre for Advancement and Protection of the Rights of Vulnerable People (CAPRIGHTS) has charged teachers, parents, guardians, and caregivers to protect rights of children to avoid unwanted pregnancies, juvenile delinquency, and other assaults among school children and the society.

They made the call at the launch of ‘Challenging Barrier to Academic Excellence in Secondary Schools,’ held in Igando, Lagos, a programme funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Netherlands.

Project Manager, CAPRIGHTS, Clara Kanu, said the programme was an avenue to bring together school children, parents, teachers, guardians, and caregivers, among others to discuss issues affecting young people in their academics.

Kanu stated that CAPRIGHTS provides counseling and referral support to victims of child rights violations, developing information, education and communication materials that are simple and handy for students and teachers to use in addressing these issues.
