Executive Director, Projects EDP, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Samuel Adjogbe, has canvassed a shift of the governorship slot to Delta North Senatorial district in 2019 election.
Adjogbe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and patron of Buhari Support Group Centre in the south-south zone, made the call at his residence in Evwreni, Ughelli North Local Council Area, when Prof. Pat Utomi visited him over his governorship ambition.
Adjogbe said: “If Delta Central and Delta South had done two tenures, it would only be natural for the other senatorial district to also do theirs. If we follow this sequence, by 2023, Anioma in Delta North would support Delta Central to produce governor. This is necessary for the change agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari to go round in the state.”
He said NDDC alone cannot adequately liberate the state from the shackles of poor governance and under development, and urged Delta people to support APC to ensure an all-round development in the state.
Utomi, who commended the NDDC chief for his good works, said: “We need people like Adjogbe when we emerge as governor to help in turning things around. We, as a people love identifying with those who have done things well. It motivates us to want Delta to do things well also.”
Utomi implored the people to come together and rescue the state, to create sustainable global value chains. He said: “I must not fail to thank all those who believe that an Anioma son should be the one to run and complete their second tenure. Indeed history shall remember you as a people of uprightness, fairness and equity.”
