The Federal Government has inaugurated an e-citizen automation call centre in Abuja for ease of doing business with the government under the Federal Ministry of Interior.
Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Bello Danbazau, while opening the centre, said it is a project that would enable the citizen and business departments in the ministry to be well positioned in conducting government’s dealings with people in an easy and a less-complicated way.
Also, in a communiqué signed by one of its deputy directors, Mohammed Manga, the ministry said the e-centre would encourage quick service delivery and economic growth because Nigerians would now be able to go online and do business with the ministry.He said the project would ensure greater transparency and efficiency through its website address ecitibiz.interior.gov.ng. as well as reduce any form of corruption in the business environment.
Besides, Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Muhammed Bello Umar, said trained members of staff of the ministry would manage the project facility, which has five call centre agents that would be responding to customer enquiries in Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa languages as well as in English and pidgin English through its website address ecitibiz.interior.gov.ng.
