For orderliness and observance of necessary travel documents, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has issued guidelines for international passengers arriving or leaving the country through any of its international airports or borders.

The Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede in a statement, said his organisation had noticed that some international travellers were beating clearance, especially at the airports.

By the new arrangement, intending passengers, including Nigerians arriving or leaving the country, must pass through a recognised point of entry or exit as well as submit themselves to immigration officers for clearance.

Signed by NIS Public Relations Officer, Amos Okpu, the statement reminded passengers to be in possession of an Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) passport or travel certificate for members of the sub-regional body in addition to a valid visa.
