The Guardian gathered that the affected aides were seeking elective offices in next year’s general elections.

A statement yesterday in Owerri by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Sam Onwuemeodo, the disengaged appointees include the Chief of Staff, Uche Nwosu; Secretary to the State Government (SSG), George Eche; the governor’s principal secretary, Paschal Obi, and Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations), Kingsley Uju.

Six commissioners were also affected, including Emma Ojinere (Trade, Investment/Commerce).
