A presidential aspirant and founder of the Nigeria Democratic Congress Party (NDCP), Dr. Johnson A. Edosomwan, has said that the nation should be able to pay its workers a minimum wage of N300,000 to eliminate acute poverty and improve the quality of life.

Edosomwan, who spoke during a political roundtable in Abuja, said all wages and pay levels should be reviewed and restructured to create a competitive business environment that is driven by quality service delivery and a reward system for those that achieve the highest level of excellence.

According to him, there is a need to create a minimum wage structure with index factors for inflation and economic growth that would improve the quality of life and provide competitiveness because the bedrock of any nation’s economy is the financial system and a security system that can protect the assets of individuals, businesses and institutions.

He promised that if elected president in 2019, he would work to bring about a restructured Nigeria, especially in the areas of good governance and the fight against corruption, investment capital and taxes, infrastructure, electricity and water supply, technology and innovation and trade opportunities.
