Two suspects were arrested yesterday for allegedly using drone to monitor activities in the Abeokuta residence of former Ogun State governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba.

In a statement, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain indicated that the incident involved a lady and a young man, who could not give any satisfactory reasons for their action. Kunle Adeyemi, who signed the statement on behalf Osoba, warned that the political climate in Ogun had taken a dangerous dimension with a major security breach and threat to his life.

According to the 10-paragraph statement, it was not the first time such security breach had occurred in the house. Unknown persons had few years ago reportedly invaded the expansive compound and expertly dug out armoured cables.

The statement read in part: “Late afternoon on Tuesday (yesterday) two people, a lady and a young man, were caught using drone to monitor goings-on in the expansive compound of Chief Osoba.“Alert security staff of Chief Osoba were able to bring down the drone and got the operators arrested.

“Neither of the suspects was able to give coherent explanation.“Chief Osoba arrived Abeokuta from the United Kingdom in the morning to prepare for a private meeting where peaceful conduct of the presidential party primary scheduled for Friday was to be discussed.”
