President Muhammadu Buhari has sent condolences to the family of renowned chartered accountant, Sen. David Dafinone, who transited on Sunday.He also commiserated with the government and people of Delta State, assuring them the Second Republic senator for Bendel South lived a life of service to God and the nation.
The president, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, yesterday commended the senator’s disposition to serve the Federal Government whenever he was called upon, while always promoting democratic values and culture among his people.
Buhari prayed God to receive the soul of the departed and comfort his family. The president has also joined the business community in mourning the passing of renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, Chief Sunny Okogwu.
Buhari, in a condolence message to family and friends of the Ojise of Asaba, said that Okogwu’s love and care for the poor and downtrodden remain historical, especially in Kaduna where he spent most of his life.
The president recommended to other Nigerians the detribalised and cosmopolitan nature of Okogwu, who developed strong and meaningful relationships outside his roots, and invested in the transformation of many lives.The Kaduna-based multi-millionaire, who founded Black Gold, was elder brother to former Military President Ibrahim Babangida’s wife, Maryam.
