FederalL Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has directed that Miss Elizabeth Elijah, a victim of the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) jet crash be taken to the Maitama General Hospital, Abuja, for treatment.
The 15-year-old sustained serious injury in one of her legs from the crashing jet while working in her father’s farm in Kantamkpe district. She was initially rushed to a nearby Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Jikoko for first aid treatment.
FCT Minister, Mohammed Bello, gave the directive yesterday in Abuja.Miss Elijah has been taken to Maitama General Hospital where she is receiving treatment, courtesy of FCT acting secretary for Health and Human Services Secretariat, Dr. Aminu Mai.
Mrs. Victoria Elijah, the victim’s mother, told The Guardian yesterday in Abuja that her husband was a poor farmer who would have found it difficult to pay the daughter’s hospital bill.She expressed appreciation to the minister and Abuja residents for standing by her at such a critical moment.
The Friday’s plane crash claimed the life of one of the pilots, who has since been buried, while two others that sustained injuries are still receiving treatment in hospital.
